Case Study - British Trombone Society

Project: Produce the British Trombone Festival 2004
Location: Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, Cardiff

Brass Solutions were contacted by BTS President, Chris Houlding, about 8 weeks prior to the planned British Trombone Festival 2004. The Society was in urgent need to a production team to takeover full responsibility for their event. After an initial feasability study and agreeing a budget with the BTS, Brass Solutions undertook a large scale marketing exercise (designing and mailing information to over 1000 trombonists in the UK), finalised all artist management issues, contacted and sold exhibit space with the music trade, designed and printed the program book (also mailed to every BTS member unable to attend the festival), and liaised on logistical and technical matters with the College.

Outcome: Attendance for the festival was the highest in several years - BTS received good exposure nationally and artists/members appreciated a smooth running, hassle-free event. The decision to outsource the Festival to a professional production company was warmly welcomed at the Society Annual General Meeting.
