Saint Michael's Singers :: About Us

Saint Michael's Singers have built up a strong partnership with this fine orchestra, based in Malvern, Worcestershire, and its conductor William Boughton.

Since its formation in 1980 the orchestra has established for itself a leading reputation in performances of English music, but also has a broadly based repertoire extending across the range of classical composers. The orchestra has toured extensively throughout Europe and the USA and has performed with many of the world's leading artists. It has produced over fifty recordings, mostly released under the Nimbus label.

The choir and orchestra have been working regularly together for over ten years. Each season sees a number of joint concerts in the Midlands area, notably the annual series of performances of Messiah by Candlelight in venues around the region. Their interpretation of Messiah has now been released as a double CD set.
